Timmmmberrr

Sorry it has been so long since an update. I had to go on a last minute business trip to India and as a result missed 2 good weekends worth of work. My body is still adjusting back to California time. I did get some work done before I left, however.

The weekend of May 12th my grandpa helped me cut down a large oak tree that stands where our new master bedroom will be. There were a few touch-and-go moments as the tree had many large limbs that were hanging over the house. Also, it was a little unnerving scaling the upper limbs, cutting with the chainsaw above my head, not totally sure which way a limb was going to fall. We did quite well with controlling all but a few using various ropes. We took out the phone line on accident and broke one window. All in all I would call it a huge success. Attached are some before and after pictures.

This weekend I'm renting a bobcat and will begin digging for the foundation. I'm also working on getting a blog up documenting the project. The content will be the same as these emails, but it will provide the opportunity for you web savvy folks to leave comments. Also, anyone who has missed any of the emails will be able to catch up from the beginning of the project.

This Friday night we will be having a little ground breaking/dedication for our project. We wanted to do this before we started, but it is never too late and it has been on our hearts. If you are interested we would love to have you join us this Friday, June 1st at 7:30pm for a short time of prayer and dedication (and some sweets). We understand that many of you will not be able to make it on such short notice and that's OK. We appreciate your prayers and support just the same.

Here are some of the things we will be praying for on Friday (and throughout the project):
  • Protection and balance for our marriage and family with the added business and stress of the project
  • Safety for all who come in contact with our project
  • Favor with the county and inspectors
  • Speed, efficiency and diligence in completing the work
I'm sorry that this email has gotten so long. You can be assured that future updates will be much more brief.
