Plumbing (without the crack)

We've got you all trained to expect updates on Tuesdays so you are probably all wondering what's going on with the project. Well... It's been a long week and weekend preparing for our second inspection which took place today. This inspection was a below floor inspection checking out the floor joists, rough plumbing, drain/waste/vent and HVAC. In order to get to this point we had to finish the floor joists (the new kitchen and
all the blocking), install all the rough plumbing and install the new heating ducts.

The floor joists were pretty easy and old hat by now. The plumbing was miserable because I had to spend hours and hours under the house - hot, dirty and cramped (and muddy because I discovered I had forgotten to solder one joint when I turned the water on!) The HVAC was not that difficult once I found a place that carried the basic supplies. I sub-contracted out the drain/waste/vent lines. This was a good call because after looking at the finished product I definitely couldn't have done it as well (or as fast).

So, all this to say that we passed the inspection and we're moving on. We will be installing insulation tonight and tomorrow night for another inspection on Friday. Then, hopefully, this Saturday we'll get the subfloor down. After the insulation inspection Friday, we don't have another inspection until all the framing is done! Should make for some good progress pics over the next several weeks.
