Still on Drywall

Over a month since our last update and we are still working on drywall!

Admittedly we have had a lot going on: work, family vacations, birthday parties and taking advantage of opportunities to spend time with my sister, brother-in-law and nephew who are visiting from Brazil. I did get my brother-in-law to help us out a few weekends ago on in probably the only Saturday we've worked on the house since the last update. What else could we do but hang more drywall?

We got the drywall in the bathroom finished up, as well as a few pieces in the kitchen. We started with getting the kneewall built between the shower and the rest of the bathroom. Then we finished the drywall that the sinks will be on. After that we finished the wall between the the bathroom and the bedroom. Finally we finished the wall between the bathroom and the kitchen. This included tearing out the old drywall on the kitchen side of the wall and soundproofing the wall before covering it with new drywall. The soundproofing was done in the same manner as described in the previous post.

We also got rid of the old kitchen cabinets. We have quite a bit of junk piling up in our yard from the demo work. Some of the biggest was the old kitchen cabinets. My brother-in-law and I moved them out to the street and put a "Free" sign on them. Surprisingly, they were gone in a day.

This coming weekend my grandpa is going to help me make a few dump runs to get rid of some more of the junk. We also have a few appliances we need to put up for sale on Craigslist. If you or anyone you know needs a basic gas range or a dishwasher, let us know.
